Passports Secured.

Today is August 29th and we are headed to Europe in two weeks for a short trip. Last week Mike called the Atlanta Passport office and was able to get us an appointment this morning to same-day rush our passports and apply for a second one for myself. They are NOT expired, but in order to apply for our visas, we must show that our passports do not expire in less than 3 months past the time that we are in Italy. In this case, our passports expire in August of 2025, since we plan to be in Italy until June 2025, this will not work. So we need to renew asap.

In the case that you need to apply for a visa (which includes relinquishing your passport along with other required documentation to be reviewed), but you also need your passport in-hand so that there is no pause on previously booked international travel, a second passport my be issued. This was news to even some of the employees at the passport office. Luckily, we have renewed both of our passports for another 10 years and I now have a second copy as well. Step one, complete.
